CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

Luke Tirrell called the meeting to order at

Jolisa Baker and her mother, Gail Baker, were also in
attendance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
·
Laura Granelli made the motion to accept the minutes of the March
15th meeting. Teretha
Jones seconded. Motion passed with one
abstention.
TREASURER’S REPORT
·
Mike Palermo read
the treasurer’s report. Motion to accept the report was made by Joe Krimko and seconded by Teretha
Jones. Motion passed.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
·
Res 11-06: Accepting the resignation of Nihjier Lattimer effective
·
Joe Krimko made the motion to close for executive session.
Seconded by Janice Sweeney.
·
Motion to close
for executive session and return to regular session was made by Teretha Jones and seconded by Janice Sweeney.
·
Jolisa Baker read a letter to the Board concerning her
termination as a Library Page. Copies of this letter will be sent to all Board
members along with statements from the supervisors mentioned in the
letter. All points of information will
be taken into consideration and a decision will be made at the next meeting.
·
Wilmont Woodworking failed to deliver on the special racks
for our audio-visual collection. Storage
units have been ordered through a supply catalog and are already put together
and being used.
·
New hires, Henrietta
Dawson and Elizabeth Kelly are working out fine.
·
The Township
Committee has approved our library sign.
The Library Friends have already written a check for half of the amount
to get the project started.
·
The cable has
been restored to the building. We are
waiting for an appointment date from Cablevision so that the modem and router
can be installed for our wireless project.
PROCEDURE FOR BOARD MEMBER ABSENCES
·
The Board member
information list has been updated. Any
member who cannot attend a meeting should contact Luke at the numbers listed,
especially on matters pertinent directly to the Board.
REVIEW OF VARIOUS PROCEDURAL MANUALS
·
Sections of the
library by-laws and procedural manual will be reviewed at each meeting to
update areas that need improvement.
OLD BUSINESS
·
The mock emergency
fire drill took place last Wednesday.
After the drill, the staff went over what worked, what didn’t work and
also held a question and answer session. Papers were signed by staff stating
that emergency procedures were explained and that they had the tour. Any staff that was not present had a
personal walk through with Marian. The entire drill lasted approximately two
minutes. It was suggested that a log book be kept on drills and when they take
place.
