COMMITTEE REPORTS
PERSONNEL
No meeting this month. The committee will be meeting in the next few weeks to finalize the personnel manual.
BUDGET
No business.
BUILDING
The furniture will be installed on August 27th. The staff is already packing things away and storing them in the museum. The staff would like to paint the back room before the furniture is installed. A meeting with Lou, John Bouie and Bruce from maintenance will be held on Tuesday to finalize everything. After a brief discussion, it was decided that due to renovations, the library will open at 1:00 on Monday, August 27th. No videos or DVD’s will circulate on this day. The motion was made by Laura Granelli and seconded by Joe Krimko. Motion passed.
POLICIES
A discussion was held on the light box sign in front of the library. The assumption was that this sign was for library event advertising only. It was decided that we may need a light box policy and the topic should be presented to the Friends of the Library – since they purchased the sign.
OLD BUSINESS
The new copiers and coin box have been installed. The staff has been trained in order to show the patrons how to use them.
Marian attended a meeting last week at the township where she was told that the library should be running background checks. A discussion was held on this matter and it was decided that before initiating this process, a policy should be written up by the policy committee.
NEW BUSINESS
Commerce Bank will most likely be taken over by another bank. A discussion was held on whether or not we should move our account to another bank. This situation will be watched and discussed at a later meeting if things continue to develop.
The Mayor’s Ball invitation for the trustees has been received. The price this year is $85.00.
Museum items in the meeting room closet have been cleaned out and archived.
Labels have been added to boxes. Other items from the museum have been taken out and added to the closet. Marian and Cheryl Stober-Goff have been working on cleaning out the museum for over two years.
