MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NEPTUNE

DECEMBER 9, 2009

CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

Luke Tirrell called the meeting to order at 5:00pm.  The following were in attendance:

Luke Tirrell – Joe Krimko – Claudia Mooij – Mike Palermo – Connie King – Teretha Jones

Kevin McMillan

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Mike Palermo and seconded by Joe Krimko to accept the minutes of the November 4^th 2009 meeting.  Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT

The report was read by Mike Palermo.

---check for $272.71 to the General fund.

Claudia Mooij made the motion to accept the report and pay the bills.  Joe Krimko seconded.   Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

There were no reports for the month of November.

OLD BUSINESS

 A line-by-line budget sheet was distributed to the Board for review and discussion.   Computer expenses for next year have been pre-paid with 2009 monies.  Over six thousand dollars has been rolled back in to the accounts by closing po’s with remaining balances.

Resolution # R14-09: To accept the Holiday and Early Closings for the year 2010.  The motion to approve was made by Mike Palermo and seconded by Joe Krimko.  Motion carried. 

Resolution # R15-09: To approve  the salaries for the year 2010.  Motion to approve was made by Joe Krimko and seconded by Mike Palermo.   Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

Resolution# R16-09: To approve the use of library income for the week of December 7-12, 2009 to purchase food gift-cards for the Angel Tree families, and  Food for Fines  valid for the same week with the value of food being accepted approximating the value of fines and fees owed.   Mike Palermo made the motion and Joe Krimko seconded.  Motion carried.

Luke thanked the Board  for another successful year.  Mike Palermo  commended Luke Tirrell on his leadership as the President of the Board.

Resolution# R17-09: To approve the Trustee budget for the year 2010.  Motion was made by Mike Palermo and seconded by Joe Krimko.   Motion carried. 

The re-organization meeting has been scheduled for January 13, 2010 at 5:00pm.  The motion was made by Teretha Jones and seconded by Kevin McMillan.   Motion carried. 

The Mayor’s Book Club will kick-off on Read-Across-America Day, which is March 2, 2010. 

ADJOURNMENT

Motion to adjourn was made by Joe Krimko and seconded by Mike Palermo.  Motion carried.
