MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NEPTUNE

FEBRUARY 17, 2010

CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

Luke Tirrell called the meeting to order at 5:00pm.  The following were in attendance:  Teretha Jones – Joe Krimko – Kevin McMillan – Mike Palermo

Meghan Plevier – Luke Tirrell

A motion was made by Joe Krimko and seconded by Mike Palermo to accept the minutes of the January 13, 2010 meeting.  Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT

The report was read by Mike Palermo.  The Anti-Trust Grant check for $575 has been deposited.  Clarification was needed on the financial report column titles and it was decided that Marian would talk to Mike Bascom and Ed Hudson and report back to the Board. 

Mike Palermo complimented Marian on her preparation for the budget hearing. He left the hearing with the feeling that the library is doing a good job and everything is well.  A motion was made by Teretha Jones to accept the treasurer’s report.  Kevin McMillan seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

There were no committee reports or meeting for the month of February.

OLD BUSINESS

The personnel issue discussed at the January meeting is being handled by the attorney.  A letter has been drafted, approved and mailed. The issue is moving forward.

The Library Champions campaign started out with a bang.  Sign-ups have tapered off, due to the weather, but will pick up again soon.

NEW BUSINESS

The Director’s report will be getting a make-over.  Look for the new edition at the next meeting.

Resolution # R5-10: Contributions Toward Health Benefits effective January 1, 2011.  A motion was made by Mike Palermo to approve and seconded by Kevin McMillan. Motion carried.

Resolution # R6-10: Wages and Compensation for 2011 and 2012.  Mike Palermo made the motion to approve.  Kevin McMillan seconded.  Motion carried.  

Resolution #R7-10: Authorizing Krista Horan to attend Computers in Libraries Conference April 12 – 14, 2010 in Arlington, VA.  Kevin McMillan made the motion to approve.   Joe Krimko seconded.  Motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion to adjourn was made by Joe Krimko and seconded by Mike Palermo.  Motion carried.
