MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NEPTUNE
JULY 13, 2005
Jill Osis called the meeting to order at 4:35.
The following members were in attendance:
Jill Osis – Joe Krimko – Luke Tirrell – Janice Sweeney – Angela Ricciuti
Luke Tirrell made the motion to accept the minutes of the June 8th meeting. Joe Krimko seconded.
Jill Osis made the motion to close for executive session. Luke Tirrell seconded. Motion passed.
Luke Tirrell read the treasurer’s report.
Minor leaks to the roof have been reported and the engineer has been contacted. Cleanup (which can most likely be done in-house) has to be done before the tiles can be replaced.
The three youth workers from the Midtown Advocacy Program “Get Employed” started working on July 11th and the relationship seems to be working out quite well. The funds for the salaries will be coming out the library salary budget. Jill Osis made a resolution, authorizing the hiring of the three part-time library pages for a period not to exceed eight weeks, up to twenty hours per week at the rate of $5.15. Janice Sweeney seconded. Motion passed.
Angela Ricciuti made the motion to accept, with regrets, the resignation of Kathy Golub from the Board of Trustees. Joe Krimko seconded. Motion passed.
Angela Ricciuti made the motion to accept, with regrets, the resignation of part-time library assistant, Yolanda Taylor. Joe Krimko seconded. Motion passed.
Joe Krimko made the motion to appropriate funds up to $140 for attendance at the Trustee Institute in the fall. Angela Ricciuti seconded. Motion passed.
The Children’s Department received a check for $60 from the MOM’s Group as a donation for using the meeting room for their group.
Luke Tirrell made the motion to accept the Student Page Policy with the amendment, new title:” Student Page Borrowing Policy” and the rest of the policy manual as written.
Luke Tirrell made the motion to modify the staffing structure chart to reflect the library pages reporting directly to the senior library assistants. Angela Ricciuti seconded. Motion passed.
Kathleen Carr, of Ocean County Library, will be coming in to do staff training.
Luke Tirrell made the motion to adjourn. Angela Ricciuti seconded.
Motion to adjourn was made by Joe Krimko.
