MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY

OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NEPTUNE

SPECIAL MEETING

June 16, 2004

• Jill Osis called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m.

• The following members were present: Jill Osis – Peggy Auerbacher – Joe Krimko – Luke Tirrell – Kathy Golub.

• A resolution was made by Peggy Auerbacher and seconded by Joe Krimko to reassign Debra Truppo to the temporary position of Library Intern for $1500 for additional duties and to reassign Cheryl Otten to the temporary position of Supervising Librarian for $2000 for additional duties and to hire a temporary Library Assistant, for the length of the leave, not to exceed 12 weeks, at $11.79 per hour, with no benefits. Motion unanimously passed.

• A $2.00 restocking fee will be added to patron fines for any book that has been taken out of the system due to a lost and paid complaint.

• A discussion was held on forming the focus group for the director search. The July Board meeting will be an open forum set up to search for a new director. Everyone’s input will be taken but the actual search committee will be making the final decisions. A motion was made by Joe Krimko to form a sub-committee of the library board to act as the search committee, to fill the director’s position. The committee will be chaired by Luke Tirrell, with Angela Ricciuti and Joe Krimko, up to two professional librarians from the Neptune School System and the Twp Administrator, if available as members. Seconded by Luke Tirrell. Unanimously passed.
