MINUTES OF
THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PUBLIC
LIBRARY OF
THE TOWNSHIP OF NEPTUNE
·
Jill Osis called the meeting to order at 4:35.
·
The following members were in attendance: Jill Osis – Peg
Auerbacher
Kathy Golub – Joe Krimko – Angela Ricciuti – Luke Tirrell
·
Absent: Teretha Jones
·
Luke Tirrell made the motion to accept the minutes of the
February 11th meeting. Seconded by Angela Ricciuti.
·
The revised copy of the personnel manual was reviewed.
Motion to approve the manual was made by Joe Krimko and seconded by Kathy
Golub. The motion was unanimously
approved. The Board will hold a meeting March 24th, with the staff,
to discuss the manual and answer any questions. The manual will be distributed to the staff a week before the
meeting.

Cheryl Otten received a letter of commendation from the
Board for doing such a great job with the Dr. Seuss Birthday program.
·
Kathy Golub read the treasurer’s report. Motion to accept the report and pay the
bills was made by Luke Tirrell and seconded by Angela Ricciuti.
·
A discussion was held on the library tutoring policy. It was decided that the building committee
will try to set up a meeting with the township and the Board of Education to
discuss this matter. Decisions will be
given to the policy committee to be presented at the next meeting.

A discussion was held on the afternoon security issues. It was decided that Marian and Joe would
talk to Howard O’Neil about a solution.

Discussion was held on the Board purchasing two room-sized
HEPA filter air machines. The Board
agreed to spend a maximum of fifteen hundred dollars total for both machines
and Marian will be researching for quotes.

The Board has decided to purchase a laptop computer with
printing, scanning and copying capabilities. A maximum of fifteen hundred dollars
will be used for this purchase.

The building committee
has reminded the Township of our needs concerning our space issues and was told
that it is being worked on. The roof
repair is on fast-track as soon as a contractor is called in.
·
The Board has no
objections to family members attending the CPR training class as long as they
realize the fee is their responsibility. Any staff who cannot attend on that
day, will have to make other arrangements for the training.
· Larry Davis from the Township Public Works Dept. will be making four of the standard “Library” signs. Two of the signs will be placed on Rte. 33 and the other two will go on Neptune Blvd.
