COMMITTEE REPORTS
Personnel
The personnel committee is still working on material for the manual. The final copy will be ready soon.
Budget
Marian has a meeting scheduled for Thursday morning, November 8th at 9:30 a.m. with Mike Bascom and Phil Huhn. More on this at the next meeting.
Building
Temporary move of township offices may last up to 2 years, therefore the library will not be expanding before then.
Policies
The art hangers are here. Tim Bauman will be coming in to install them. A discussion was held on this matter and it was decided that the Friends need to come up with a policy concerning the art, because the library does not want to be responsible for the set-up or removal.
It was recommended that the Board recognize Tim Bauman for all the work he has done throughout the changes in the library. ( carpet install, moving of shelving units, book fair, carpentry work, backroom painting, etc.) This will be done formally by Luke Tirrell. Motion to the recommendation was made by Joe Krimko, seconded by Mike Palermo. Motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
Marian spoke about the meeting she attended with a representative from Specialty Services and Bernie Haney from the tax office. This is the township project to update technology functions on the municipal level.
Food for Fines is scheduled for the week of December 10-15, 2007. A motion was made by Laura Granelli to donate all monies collected during that week to the Adopt-a-Family fund. Seconded by Joe Krimko. Motion carried.
Congratulations to Marian and staff for being voted One of the Best Public Libraries in Monmouth County, and thanks to Sandra Fornino for spearheading the vote.
Congratulations also to Marian for being appointed by the State Librarian to the Blue Ribbon Panel on the Future of Libraries.
