MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NEPTUNE

NOVEMBER 4, 2009

CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL

Luke Tirrell called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm.  The following were in attendance:

Luke Tirrell – Teretha Jones – Mike Palermo – Claudia Mooij – Joe Krimko – Connie King

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

A motion was made by Joe Krimko and seconded by Mike Palermo, to accept the minutes of the October 14, 2009 meeting.  Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT

The report was read by Mike Palermo. 

---check for $5131.09 to the general fund for the  Oct 26^th bills.

---check for $31.94 to Madelyn Hall (refund)

Teretha Jones made the motion to accept the report and pay the bills.  Joe Krimko seconded.  Motion carried.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

There were no reports for the month of October. 

OLD BUSINESS

Marian gave a report on the gaming circulation status.   One hundred and eleven games circulated for the month of October.  After the Christmas holiday, the circulation will most likely improve because  people will  get  the hardware as gifts.

A discussion was held on the holidays for 2010.  A sample of the schedule was distributed and discussed.  After the discussion, there did not appear to be a concensus on accepting the schedule, therefore, the issue has been taken off the table.  As for the year 2010, the holiday closings will remain as is, except for Good Friday, which the library will be open.

Marian has the “ok” from Mike Bascom to spend approximately $1200 on furniture.  The  backs and seats of the chairs in the Chldren’s Dept will be replaced as well as the chairs in the meeting room .

 NEW BUSINESS

The staff evaluations are finished, but have not been delivered to the staff yet.

There were forty three attendees at the Read To a Dog program.  Two mothers reported to Cheryl that their children are reading much better because of the program.

Joe Krimko read a letter from the Ocean Grove Citizen Patrol Board of Directors thanking  Marian for allowing them to use the library for their meeting.

ADJOURNMENT

Mike Palermo made the motion to adjourn, Joe Krimko seconded.  Motion carried.
