MINUTES
OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NEPTUNE
SEPTEMBER 14, 2005
Jill Osis called the meeting to order at 4:35 pm.
The following members were in attendance: Joe
Krimko – Jill Osis – Angela Ricciuti – Mike Palermo – Luke Tirrell
– Janice Sweeney – Teretha Jones
New Board member, Mike Palermo was greeted and
welcomed by everyone.
Luke Tirrell made the motion to approve the
minutes of the August 15th meeting with the necessary correction.
Jill Osis seconded. Motion passed.
Resolution was made by Luke Tirrell to switch from
Central Jersey Bank to Commerce
Bank. Janice Sweeney seconded. Motion
passed.
Luke Tirrell read the treasurer’s report. Joe
Krimko made the motion to approve the report and pay the bills. Angela Ricciuti seconded.
Motion passed.
One hundred thirty four dollars was made at
Neptune day.
Mr. Suds Carpet Cleaning has given the library a
quote of $217.00 to clean the meeting room. After a brief discussion, Luke
Tirrell made the motion to
accept the quote. Angela
Ricciuti seconded. Motion
passed.
A discussion was held on hiring additional pages.
Joe Krimko made the motion to hire three library pages for 2 days a week, up
to 20 hours a week each, at $5.15 per hour. Seconded by Angela Ricciuti.
Motion passed.
A resolution was made by Janice Sweeney to hire
Christine Duffy and Rosana Santos, effective September 1st, in
full time capacity to the salary of $23,400 through year
2006, with full benefits. Luke Tirrell seconded the motion.
Motion passed.
The personnel committee will be meeting to discuss
issues from the manual that may need to be revised.
Five library policies from the policy manual were
reviewed and discussed to make changes or to update.
Motion to accept the policies as amended was made by Luke Tirrell and
seconded by Joe Krimko.
A discussion was held on the OverDrive Initiative.
The Board decided that this is not within
the lines of the strategic
plan that was put into place and a decision should not be made
until after Krista has attended a meeting
to bring back more information.
Joe Krimko made the motion to adjourn. Seconded by
Angela Ricciuti.
